Microsoft AI VALL-E 2: AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology is being used rapidly among humans. Many experts have claimed that in the coming times, AI will replace humans. In this series, Microsoft has created a new AI speech generator, which after listening to any human voice starts talking in that voice within a few seconds.
The company’s AI speech generator VALL-E 2 is a text-to-speech (TTS) generator. VALL-E 2 can listen to a human voice and produce a voice exactly like that within a few seconds. This AI speech generator is so reliable that researchers have advised against using it among humans for the time being.
According to the researchers, VALL-E 2 can produce accurate and natural human voices. In simple words, it is difficult to decide just by listening whether you are talking to a machine or a human. The researchers further said that VALL-E 2 can easily speak high quality speech. Not only this, it can also speak those sentences which are traditionally complex and challenging.
Can be used for wrong purposes
As you have read above, VALL-E 2 can imitate a voice just like a human. But this special feature can be used for wrong purposes. According to the researchers, VALL-E 2 is a research product and there is no plan to introduce it among humans right now. The reason behind this is to prevent its misuse. Anyone can use it to imitate someone’s voice and commit fraud. Apart from this, this decision has also been taken due to the increasing cases of voice cloning and deepfake.
